Hampton Bay Remote Control Fan Instructions

Hampton Bay remote control fan instructions are contained in the manual that comes with the ceiling fan. If it’s your first time to buy a Hampton Bay remote control fan, you may be a little concerned on how to go about it. After all, you are no technical person, to begin with, and you have no experience with electrical wires whatsoever. However, you’ll be surprised to know that it’s actually an easy task. No technical skills are required, but an understanding of some basic safety precautions to avoid running into any kind of trouble during the installation process.

Apparently, you need to read the Hampton Bay remote control fan instructions thoroughly before starting the installation. The instructional manual usually contains a list of the parts included in your purchase. Locate the parts one by one, and make sure that none is missing. You will need a ladder, an electric wire tester, a screw driver, and an electrical wire cutter, among other tools, so make sure that you have these ready before you begin. Better if you can put these tools in a tool pouch or belt that you can tie around your waist. This way you wouldn’t need to go down and up again in case you forget something. Next, turn off the main electricity line. To ensure that you are not dealing with any live wire, test it with an electrical wire tester.

Now, look for the mounting bracket – it comes next in the Hampton Bay remote control fan instructions. Snap the bracket in place on the electrical box. There ought to be three wires coming out of the ceiling, and another three from the ceiling fan itself. Match the wires according to their color – black (positive), white (neutral), and green (ground wire). Next, mount the fan and the decorative base that is supposed to keep the wiring and electrical box neatly. The fan blades should be able to slide smoothly onto the blade bracket, but always make sure that they are locked in place. You wouldn’t want your blades flying about in all directions the moment you turn on your ceiling fan.

If your t Hampton Bay remote control ceiling fan comes with lights, there is a separate installation kit for that, but don’t worry, it’s fairly easy to do, too. Now, you are ready to try if your ceiling fan works as it should. Turn the power back on, and switch on your fan. Observe the blades closely – ideally they should be well balanced and move around with little vibration. In case the blades are not balanced, you can purchase weights to keep them so. Until then, it wouldn’t be wise to use your ceiling fan yet.
